Medicare Item Numbers & Rebates

Under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), eligible clients can receive up to 5 rebates per calendar year, each valued at $60.35.

Medicare Item Number for Online Dietitian Consultations:

  • 93000 – Dietitian Video Consultation

  • Rebate Amount: $60.35 per session (Up to 5 sessions per year)

If you believe you may be eligible for Medicare-subsidised dietitian consultations, speak with your GP about obtaining a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) referral.

Consultation Fees & Rebates

Clients are required to pay for their consultation upfront. Once payment is received, we will process your Medicare rebate of $60.35 directly to your nominated account.

Fee Structure:

  • Initial Consultation (45 minutes) – $145 → Medicare Rebate: $60.35

  • Follow-up Consultation (30minutes) – $95 → Medicare Rebate: $60.35

Medicare Rebates for Online Dietitian Consultations

As an online-only dietetic clinic, we provide video telehealth consultations for individuals with a valid Medicare referral from their GP.

Who is Eligible for a Medicare Rebate?

Medicare rebates are available for individuals with a chronic condition and complex care needs, managed under a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) by their GP.

To be eligible, your GP must provide a signed Referral Form for Allied Health Services specifically for dietitian consultations.

Bulk billing is NOT available.

Clients are responsible for any out-of-pocket costs after the Medicare rebate has been applied.

How to Book a Medicare Consultation

Step 1: Check with your GP to confirm eligibility for a CDM referral.
Step 2: Obtain a signed Medicare referral with:

  • A signed and dated Referral Form

  • Your GP’s provider number

  • Listed Medicare Item Number: 93000 – Dietitian Video Consultation

Step 3: Email your referral to bookings@tailoreddietetics.com.au before your appointment.
Step 4: Wait for a call from us – We’ll discuss the process and find a suitable appointment time.

Important: Medicare rebates are subject to Medicare’s approval and are not guaranteed. If we do not receive your referral before your appointment, you will be charged the full private fee, and no rebate can be processed.

Is Your Funder or Service Provider Not Listed?

If your funder or service provider is not listed, please contact us before booking. We can accommodate most services; we just need to ensure we allocate the correct code to your invoice for your funder.

Please note: A credit card must be stored on file for all bookings, regardless of payment method (e.g., bank transfer prior to the appointment), unless your funder is paying directly.
